October 3 and 4 – Marble On My Mind
The 29th Annual Georgia Marble Festival, held in Jasper, Pickens County, Georgia has Marble on my Mind as their theme.

The theme, Marble on my Mind, will be featured in the parade through downtown Jasper as the festival kicks off at 10am on Saturday morning with the annual Marble Festival Parade. Leading the parade through downtown Jasper will be Rumble in the Mountains, a motorcycle ride that continues for a one hour ride through picturesque Pickens County and ends at a motocycle expo with live entertainment. The festival will be held at Lee Newton park Saturday from 10:30am to 6pm and Sunday from 10am to 5pm. Arts and crafts, fine arts exhibit, children’s area, Business Expo, entertainment and lots of good food. Parking and shuttles will be free. Entrance fee to the festival will be $5.00 per adult and $3.00 for students age 6 and up.
Saturday only, one of the shuttle pick ups will be at Lawson Chevrolet where you can visit the Georgia Marble Festival Class Car Show.
Saturday night, be sure to be in town for an old fashion street dance. The fun begins at 7pm in front of the marble courthouse on main street. 53 West, a popular local group, will be playing – the event is free, so bring your lawn chairs and dancing shoes.
There will be Tours of the Marble Mines on Saturday and Sunday. This is the only time of the year that you are able to visit the quarry. You will see first hand the quarry mines and will learn the history of how the marble mines were started. Quarry Tour tickets are sold on a first come, first serve basis, so reservations need to be made early. Tickets are $10 (this includes festival admission) for adults and children are $7, under age 5 free.

Dirctions to Jasper, Pickens County from Atlanta – I-75 north to exit 268/I-575 North. Stay on I-575 to 4th traffic light in Pickens County/Hwy 53 East (Pizza Hut, McDonalds, Ingles Market). Turn right and follow about 1 mile to Lee Newton Park/Pickens County Chamber of Commerce on the left, across from the Jasper Middle School.
From Dawsonville – follow Hwy 53 West to 4-way stop in Tate. Turn right onto Hwy 53 west, and follow into Jasper. Cross over Main Street and continue about 1/2 mile, you will see Jasper Middle School on your left and Lee Newton Park/Pickens County Chamber of Commerce on the right.
Remember, the festival grounds are just across the street from the Jasper Middle School.
