What a wonderful, fabulous, never to be forgotten birthday! My birthday is today, March 17th St Patrick’s Day! My husband asked me, “‘how do you like sharing your birthday with St Patrick’s Day?” Like I have any choice. But I’ve been sharing my birthday with St Patrick’s Day for a very long time, and it has been nice, sharing with such a great day!

And my day was GREAT! This morning, my husband sang Happy Birthday to me first thing! Now those of you that know my husband, he does have a good voice, for radio, and the birthday song was very nice. I totally enjoyed it and it was ‘sang from the heart’. Then I got a ‘Happy Birthday’ text from my son on my cell phone. I also got lots of birthday wishes from my facebook family and friends.

While on my way into Jasper, I talked with my Dad on the phone. Now my Dad is 79 (just last month) and lives in Southern Indiana, and it is such a blessing every day that I get to talk with him. Anyway, he wished me a Happy Birthday and I said to him, ‘Now Dad, you are going to sing Happy Birthday to me, right?’ (I was just kidding him) and he said ‘oh now, I can’t sing’, which I said to him, ‘Dad, I can’t sing either but it is my birthday’, and guess what? He broke out into my Happy Birthday song!!! It made tears come to my eyes. I cannot remember my Dad ever singing Happy Birthday to me and today, he did. It was just so special! I will remember this birthday forever!

In Jasper, I met up with my son and he gave me my birthday card. Sometimes kids cannot say what they feel but they can find a card that definitely says how they feel. This card that my son gave me was the bomb! He nailed it completely and I truly love him for it! He’s a great kid and I love him very much.

Then I met up with my sister at her store, Tona’s Tees and Gifts, and she gave me my birthday card and a sister hug. It is nice when you are able to share good times with your family-I am truly blessed to have some of my family so close.

I left my sister’s store and went next door to Kelly’s Cuisine as I wanted to get a sandwich to go. Kelly had a great special today, a Corned Beef Ruben with piles of thinly shaved corned beef with saurerkraut, ”fried pickles”, swiss cheese and her very own special sauce…on rye bread…OMGosh, it was sooooo good. I couldn’t take that to go so I ate it there while chatting with Kelly. She was telling me she is expanding her restaurant and is planning her Grand Opening for May 8th of Kelly’s Pub & Grill. You can read more about it on her web site at www.kellyscuisinecatering.com, click on the Pub and Grill tab. And be sure to mark your calendar for her Grand Opening in early May. If you want a wonderful lunch or if you are in need of an event catered, call Kelly – store 706 253 4656 or her cell at 706 889 1258.

After leaving Kelly’s, I drove to Canton to run some errands and then came back up to Jasper. I went by Express Care to get the oil changed in my vehicle, Thank You guys very much. You had my car in and out in record time which gave me time to then go to the post office, and to get my car washed! I was home in plenty of time to get ready for dinner at the Woodbridge Inn with my husband.

Dinner at The Woodbridge Inn was Great! The place is so beautiful with all the changes Han’s and Amy has made and it was wonderful having a table right by the window so we could watch the birds and nature while having our dinner. We each got Baked Oysters Rockefeller, which are our favorites. Dinner for me was Rack of Lamb served with Bearnaise sauce & sauteed mushrooms, carrots and bread. My husband got the Filet Mignon Forestier grilled, lean Black Angus beef served with sauteed mushrooms, carrots and bread. We ordered coffee and each had a dessert, the apple strudel and Creme’ Brule. Oh my, we were waddling out of The Woodbridge Inn after that dinner.

I did get to see a good Facebook buddy at The Woodbridge Inn. Rene Harris and her husband were there for dinner celebrating Rene’s new job. I had never met Rene although we did an inspection on their home when they moved up to Jasper and she is a Facebook buddy, so it was great to see her and stop and talk to her a minute. Congratulations Rene on your new job!
