Today my husband, Ken and I went to the County Line Baptist Church Benefit Car Show that was held at Vernie Jones Ford on Hwy 515 in Jasper. It had started to rain at our house in Bent Tree but we hoped for better weather in Jasper at the car show. When we got there, the place was pretty packed with the antique cars & trucks and their owners. People were already milling around, and checking out these beautifully, restored vehicles. The benefit was for the youth Sunday School activities, Missionary Work and other things at the church; it was nice to see the young people involved.

I saw Ms Vicki Massey right away and got a couple of pictures of her and the other ladies helping with the registration of the cars & trucks for the show. Activities included door prices, a 50/50 drawing, entertainment and concessions. The light rain kept a lot of people away but all and all, there were about 40+ antique cars & trucks in the show. We didn’t stay around until the end but I do plan to get who the winners were and post them here later.

Trophies are to be presented for: Best of Show, Preacher’s Choice, Participant’s Choice, and Top 25 Cars and Trucks.

I also learned a new term, “Trailer Queen” which means ‘an antique car or truck that is never driven but trailered every where it is shown’.
