We had a beautiful Saturday afternoon for the Dog Day in the Park – in support of Blecky, a trained drug dog, to bring her home to Pickens County, GA. There was quite a crowd of citizens enjoying different events, socializing, listening to Simple Southern Man”, a southern rock band and doing their best, young and old, to dunk Sheriff Craig. All for a good cause of course. Per Kevin Osborne, The Pickens County Anti-Drug Coalition, Inc. fund raiser for Dog Day in the Park raised over four thousand dollars for Bleckey, a drug/search dog for the Sheriff’s Office, sixteen dogs were adopted from Pickens Animal Rescue, over twenty dogs were inocculated for rabies and everyone had a blast of a time. Thanks for the updated information Kevin! (PS My husband and I won tickets to Steel Magnolias, which we plan to see this week)

Check out the video of how many Pickens County residents, for $1.00 a throw, wanted to see Sheriff Craig take a nice spring time swim in the  Dunking Booth -

During DOG DAY IN THE PARK, there were also 25 pets that received AVID Microchips, thanks to Pickens Animal Rescue Volunteers working that day. For only $20, Microchipping is the best way to Tag / ID your pets. Having this form of ID can help ensure their safe return to you if they are ever lost. Collars may come off but the Microchip remains in place and can be scanned by any shelter, rescue or Vet. FOR THE SAFE RETURN OF YOUR PET…Please get a Microchip TODAY!
