“Over the years, the United States has sent many of its fine young men and women into great peril to fight for freedom beyond our borders. The only amount of land we have ever asked for in return is enough to bury those that did not return.” General Colin Powell Monday, May 31st is MEMORIAL DAY

Memorial Day – A Time To Honor America’s Heroes
Courtesy of http://www.usmemorialday.org To help re-educate and remind Americans of the true meaning of Memorial Day, the “National Moment of Remembrance” resolution was passed on Dec 2000 which asks that at 3 p.m. local time, for all Americans “To voluntarily and informally observe in their own way a Moment of remembrance and respect, pausing from whatever they are doing for a moment of silence or listening to ‘Taps.”
Americans can help to honor those that given their lives in the following ways:
•Place flags or flowers on the graves of those heroes that have died serving our country.
•Visit memorials that have been built to honor our fallen heroes.
•Fly the United States flag at half-staff until noon on Memorial Day.
•Participate in the “Moment of Remembrance” in order to reflect on the meaning of the Memorial Day holiday.
•Listen to “Taps” which is the official bugle call of military funerals.
•Attend a local ceremony which remembers the heroes of war.
Do not forget those that have given their life to protect ours. Take time to celebrate the Memorial Day Holiday in your own way.
