Ken and I left Jasper on Saturday about 8am to run a couple of errands before heading the the airport to catch our flight to Las Vegas. I have never been to Las Vegas and was really excited. The rain in North Georgia had not let up on our way to the airport and by the time we got to Camp Creek Parkway, there was so much water on the road, you could tell that it was starting to flood. Thank God we made it safely to the Park N Ride and through all the down pouring rain, we got onto the shuttle bus heading to Delta. Check in was a breeze and we got to our gate in plenty of time. There were no delays, even with all the rain, and we left out at our scheduled 1:35pm time.

We arrived in Las Vegas about 6pm, at which time, we had been up since 5am; makes for a very long travel day. I wanted this to be our ride to the hotel but Not! our-ride-not

At the shuttle bus to the airport, we met up with one of our members, Brian Murphy of A-Action Home Inspection from Arlington, Texas. Once we checked into our hotel rooms, Ken and I met up with Brian again and we took a 10 minute Taxi ride to Rio to enjoy their Seafood Buffet.

The Seafood Buffet at Rio’s was unbelievable…They had several stations, the Pacific Rim, Baja, Spirits, Latin American, Raw Bar, Produce and the Desert Bar. Now at a Seafood Buffet, it is so hard not to fill your plate to the overload capacity, but we did our very best to try a nibble or two of each station. My favorite were the crab legs and claws. I cannot help it, I love the great taste but when you are finished with something this good and messy, you really feel like you need a bib.

We wanted to remember this evening, so we got our waiter to take our picture. The Seafood Buffet at Rio’s will be an buffet we will not forget!ken-beth-and-brian1

The night life in Vegas really doesn’t begin until about 8 or 9 in the evening. As we were leaving Rios, people will filing in. There was a wedding reception going on and a bachelor party. I know they were going to have a great time! Just so much to do and enjoy.

The taxi ride back to the Palazzo was wild, the driver must have had several cups of very strong coffee and he must have wanted to get rid of us and find another fare. He was honking at people and riding their bumper. I was glad that we made it be to the Palazzo safe!

Once inside, we realized how beautiful the place is and got a picture of the lobby. We were thinking how wonderful that bed was going to feel after our 17 hour travel day.the-palazzo-lobby-3

More to come later.
