Tuesday, November 29, 2011 – The Earliest Snow Fall in 12 Years!

Yup…it’s officially time to get in the Christmas Spirit! 2″ of sticky, snowman stuff fell on Sassafras Mountain today, says Susan Catton, who lives up on Sassafras Mountain!

On Monday, the temperature started dropping and the forecast was the “S” word! You could just imagine everyone running to the grocery and convenient stores to buy milk, bread, beer and cigarettes!!! It was only up in the mountains of Pickens County where there was any accumulations at all and some saw up to 2″ of snow.

At the time of my typing this post, the temperatures are 37 degrees so more than likely, that ‘S’ word has come and gone, or is mostly gone…but it sure is pretty to look at!
