On November 29, 2009 four Lakewood police officers were killed in the line of duty. A benefit concert is being held on February 27th at the Lucky Eagle Casino in Rochester, WA. This event is to honor their service and to help raise funds for the Washington State Behind the Badge Foundation, which will go to help the families of officers Renninger, Owens, Griswold and Richards as well as other officers and families who have been injured or lost in the line of duty.

Three of TelluRide’s band members, Adam Craig, Brian Smith and Ryan Jones, are from Washington state. “The Lakewood tragedy was such an eye-opener?to the needs of the families of fallen officers in the area,” says TelluRide’s lead singer Adam Craig. “We knew that we wanted to do something to help, so we jumped at the opportunity to participate in this benefit show. We’re hoping for a great turnout to help support such a worthy cause.”

Jeff Catton, a Jasper resident, CEO/President of American Roots Records and InTune Entertainment has been working with event organizers Corey Archibald, from the Department of Corrections and Community Corrections Supervisor, Tracy Grunenfelder in Washington. The Lucky Eagle Casino, Behind the Badge Foundation representatives, sponsors and local public officials began working together to organize this fundraising event shortly after the tragic loss. “Our police officers are heroes and they sacrificed their lives to keep the community safe.
