We just had the best weekend for weather here in Pickens County in a very long time! The temperatures got up into the mid 60′s today, Sunday, and it was GREAT! Just a little teasing of spring for us in the North Georgia Mountains. And let me tell you – I am ready for spring!
My son and I went to play a little tennis yesterday afternoon in Jasper but every public court we went to was occupied. We waited at the courts at the Duck Pond for about 20 minutes and we finally said, ‘forget it’ and left. When we want to play tennis again, I think we will just reserve a court at Bent Tree. That way we know we’ll be able to play.
The families were definitely out enjoying the day on Saturday. The children were having a great time on the swings and playing in the sand. The parents and their friends were enjoying the sunshine and walking the track around the Duck Pond. This is definitely a great place in Jasper to bring the kids and enjoy.

We had a beautiful sunset over the North Georgia Mountains that just takes your breath away! We are so fortunate to live here.
Today I noticed the March flowers poking up through the ground and if the weather stays nice for a few more days, they will be blooming left and right. A few years ago, I planted about 100 Daffodil bulbs at our property line and over the years, they have multiplied. Now, every spring, the Daffodil bunches start coming out of the ground and they look so ‘springie’ compared to the drab, brown and dead leaves and brush around them.
Its a breath of fresh air to see them popping out! We know that spring is not far away!
