They say my dad has the beginning stages of Alzheimer’s and are treating him for that. When I talk to my dad on the phone, he seems just fine but I notice that he ‘includes my step mom’ in on our conversations. So what I have started doing is calling my dad first thing in the morning, when I know my step mom is still in bed, so I have the conversation with my dad only. Not that I don’t love my step mom, but I want my dad to talk only to me.
I have learned so much from Bob at Alzheimer’s Reading Room about the effects and different changes a person goes through with Alzheimer’s and he and his information have made it so much easier for me to understand what is happening with my dad. I am able to understand and better able to deal with the changes my dad is going through. Thank You Bob!
