Got Hard-to-Recycle Items? We’ve Got a Solution!
Ever wish you could recycle styrofoam, old plastics, or fluorescent tube lights instead of letting them take up space? Now you can! Join Keep Pickens Beautiful (KPB) on March 22, 2025, from 10 AM – 2 PM at the Pickens County Recycle Center for our Hard-to-Recycle Materials Event and let us take care of these tricky items for you.
Instead of tossing them in the trash, bring them to us! We’ll make sure they’re transported to the proper facilities so they can be recycled responsibly. Let’s work together to keep Pickens County cleaner and greener!

Not all items can go in your curbside bin, but we’ve got you covered for some of the most difficult-to-recycle materials!

✔ Shrink Wrap
✔ Plastic Straws
🖥 CRT TVs – Small Fee Applies
Got an old CRT TV collecting dust? We’ll take it! Due to the costs of proper disposal, a small recycling fee applies:
💰 $10 – Up to 50 lbs
💰 $15 – 50 – 100 lbs
💰 $20 – 100 – 200 lbs
💰 $40 – More than 200 lbs
🚛 Where Do These Items Go?
We’ll transport your recyclables to CHARM in Atlanta, a facility that specializes in handling hard-to-recycle materials. While this isn’t a CHARM-sponsored event, we’re taking care of the transportation so you don’t have to make the trip!
CRT TVs will be sent to NOVUS Solutions in Marietta, where they’ll be safely dismantled and properly recycled.

We will have one truck on-site, and once it’s full, we won’t be able to accept any more items. Arrive early to make sure your materials get recycled!
